The scope of this standard covers bright drawn steel wires having diameter between 1mm to 6mm conforming to grade A or B of table 1 suitable for cold heading. This standard specifies the requirements regarding material, dimensions and mechanical properties, packing and marking for mild steel wire used for cold heading purposes.
